Why We use Southern Yellow Pine!
Southern Yellow Pine (SYP). SYP is almost three times as dense as Redwood and Cedar. This extra strength makes the gym set more durable. It also eliminates the need for metal reinforcements along horizontal beams and/or connecting points of Redwood sets.

Compare Steps! This is something you can see!

Classic Swingsets, all feature flat steps 2"x 4" on angled access ladders for easier climbing. Little children can climb into the gym with confidence and security.
Look close to some other sets that have 2" x 4" nailed straight up, to the frame.
Not to easy to climb even for older kids. Small ones will find it so difficult they won't enjoy the fort or slide.
Also look for the round dowels in the ladder; this is just a cheaper way to build.

The redwood misconception
Which Is Best? Redwood?
Or
Southern Yellow Pine with A.C.Q.Plus
The first choice you typically need to make when buying a backyard swingset is the type of wood used: Pine or Redwood? We've extensively researched the type of timber used to build our Swingsets and overwhelmingly continue to choose Pine. It is plain and simply the best choice for safety, strength, longevity and ease of maintenance. Classic Swingsets are only made of arsenic-free, A.C.Q. protect your children and our environment.
Oftentimes, Redwood Swingsets have a chunkier appearance and colored steel braces for support. This is simply because they have to, in order to be strong enough to hold your children. They may tout no "toxic" chemicals to scare parents into believing their Redwood Swingsets are more natural and safe, when actually all Redwood Swingsets need a commercial sealant annually to prevent it from turning an ugly black color.
The choice is a no brainer, Southern Yellow Pine with A.C.Q. Plus

We used to use redwood, in our pool deck joints thinking it wood last forever. What we learned was the redwood lasted about 6 years and fell apart. We replaced it with treated pine. 20 years ago.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. But sometimes the picture can be deceiving, I've seen some pictures of swingsets that look great. But the truth is there not.
So how do you know what you are getting? Some times you have to go look, if you can't do that. You can look at the total weight, also you can tell by the size of wood it's made of. Less wood = less cost. Thin untreated cedar floor and side panels cannot compare to #1 ACQ Pine.

Quality products cost more. Always have, always will. The only way to save is if you can buy it direct.

So I would suggest comparing prices. Our price is 30% to 40% off retail because we build and sell direct to you. (Like all good things this will come to an end when our dealer program is completed) so for now you can save big!
When you look at our pricing, please compare our products with top of the line swingsets, not to the toys, we see for sale on some sites. If it sales from $299 or $999 (Backyard Escapes)or(Hedstrom), the difference is you get smaller wood, bolts, swings, and everything else. More like a toy when compared to our heavy swingsets.
We are not knocking these products, this is what many people are looking for. We only want to point out that Classic Swingsets are a lot more heavy duty. While there swings and forts hold very small childern ours can support adults.
And while there's last a couple of years, ours can last a life time.
